Statement of Faith

The Scriptures

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21; 1Thess. 2:13)

The Godhead

  • Our God is one, but manifested in three Persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal. (Deut. 6:4; Phil. 2:6)
  • God the Father is the Sender of the Word (logos) and the Begetter (John 14:28, 16:28, 1:14)
  • The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 14:16, 15:26).

Man, His Fall, And Redemption

  • Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. The Bible says, “…all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,” and “….there is none righteous, no not one” (Rom. 3:23, 3:10)
  • Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the works of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (Rom. 5:14; John 3:8).
  • Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the Law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. (Eph. 2:8-10)

The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ

  • Christ, the Son of God, became man, by taking to Himself a true body and a reasonable soul, being conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost, in the womb of the Virgin Mary, and born of her yet without sin. (Matt. 1:22-23; Is.7:14; Luke 1:11-17; Luke 2:27-35)

Eternal Life and the New Birth

  • Man’s first step towards salvation is Godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The new birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced produces eternal life. (II Cor. 7:10; I John 5:12; John 3:5)

Commandment of Love

  • God has commanded us to love Him with all our hearts, with all our mind and with all our strength and also to love our neighbours as ourselves. (Matt. 5:43-48; Matt. 22:37-40; I Cor. 13: 1-13)

Water Baptism

  • Baptism in water is a declaration to the world that a believer has died with Christ and that they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47; Rom. 6:4)

The Lord's Supper

  • The celebration of the Lord’s Supper by eating of the bread and drinking of the cup is a remembrance of Jesus. (I Cor. 11:24-30)

Baptism In The Holy Ghost

  • All believers are entitled to, and should ardently expect and earnestly seek, the promise of the Father, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, accordingly to the command of Jesus Christ. With this comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowal of gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry: This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. Speaking in tongues is not the ultimate goal in walking with Jesus but exercising the fruits of the spirit and obedience of His Word. No one is disqualified to serve at Destiny & Dominion if they do not speak in tongues. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8, 2:38-39, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 15:7-9; I Cor. 12:1-31; Matt. 3:11; John 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8, 2:38, 39, 19:1-7, 2:1-4; Gal. 5: 16-26)

  • The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return. (Hebrews 12:14; I Thess. 5:23; II Peter 3:18; I Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12-14; I Cor. 1:30)

Divine Healing

  • Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands, it is provided for in the Atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of every member of the Church today. (Mark 16:16; James 5:14, 15; I Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17; Isa. 53:4, 5)

Blessed Hope

  • Jesus is coming to gather all His saints to Heaven. (I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thess. 4:16-17; II Thess. 2:1)

Body of Christ

  • Each believer is an integral part. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23)

Total Prosperity

  1. Spiritual (John 3:3, 11; II Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10: 9-10)
  2. Mental (II Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 26:3)
  3. Physical (Isaiah 53: 4-5; Matthew 8:17)
  4. Financial (3John 2; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-10; Philippians 4:19)
  5. Social (Pr. 3:4)

Tithes and Offerings

  • We believe that members in the body of Christ are to give their tithes (one tenth of all our increase) back to the Lord and give offerings as they are led by the Spirit of God. In doing this, the local church will be able to maintain all financial responsibilities and to be able to maintain the biblical teachings of feeding the poor, giving to the widow, the fatherless and homeless. (Mal. 3:8-12; II Cor. 9:1-15; Prov. 3:9-10; James 1:26-27)

Resurrection Of The Just And The Return Of Our Lord

  • The angels said to Jesus’ disciples “….this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, “… the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air..." (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years. (Revelation 5:10; 20:6)

Hell and Eternal Retribution

  • The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms "eternal" and "everlasting" used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as usedin denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the presence of God. (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15)
